KC has a wealth of business expereince and comes with lived disability experience. He struggled to find quality disability support that treated him as an individual and that fueled his passion to help start and build AkinCare into a business that offers more than just supports but treats people like family!

Tenae is our ray of sunshine that Joined the AkinCare family because helping people is a passion of hers. If she’s not working, you can find her at the beach with a good book in hand or working on her crochet projects. With a willingness to go above and beyond and an extra soft spot for our Aged Care participants, Tenae brings a level of warmth to the AkinCare team that we would be remiss without.

Tayla is our social butterfly. She joined AkinCare because helping people and making someone’s life easier each day puts a smile on her face and it’s a bonus that she gets to meet so many new people while she does it! If she’s not working, you’ll find her spending time with her family or gaming with friends. Her participants describe her as patient and compassionate which is why we know she’s such a good fit for the AkinCare family.

Belinda is one of our quiet achievers! Her love for helping others is what motivates her to come to work every day and her compassion and care for her participants is what makes her such an important part of the AkinCare family. When she’s not working, Belinda enjoys spending her time gardening to decompress. She has the ability to connect with people of every age and demographic which makes her a sought after team member of ours.

Caitlin comes to work every day ready to get stuck in to it. Her commitment to her participants and her consistently upbeat attitude in the face of challenges is something we and her participants love about her. If she’s not working she can be found with her horses or her family spending quality time together. Helping people is something that Caitlin appreciates even more while working with AkinCare and she’s managed to find the perfect blend of hard work and happiness.

Sarah's dedication to building strong relationships with our participants extends beyond your initial contact with AkinCare. When she’s not working, you’ll find her spending time with family or picking up new hobbies every other week.

Ash is the youngest in our AkinCare family tree but her age doesn’t stop her from connecting with people from all walks of life and all age groups. When Ash has a day off, you’ll find her at the gym or feeding her love of adventure by planning her next road trip with her friends. Her patience and commitment to her participants is such a shining example of our ethos and we’re so proud to have her.

Marco is one of our star Support Workers who values the positive impact he can make on the lives of others. A self described nerd, when Marco isn’t working, he’s probably playing D&D or watching a good cult film. His ability to connect with participants of all ages and find common ground to grow from makes Marco an incredible asset to AkinCare and we’re proud to have him on our team and yours.

Kelly is our organisation whiz. Making a hobby into a career, she works hard at helping our participants find order in their lives and has fun doing it! If she’s not at work she’s definitely indulging in some retail therapy (who can blame her?). Kelly’s outstanding quality within the AkinCare organisation though is her reliability and absolute willingness to help her fellow team members.

Jacinta is our little pocket rocket, Rugby League superfan! With a work ethic that’s out of this world and lived experience in the disability space, our participants find Jacinta’s brand of Support work refreshing. If she’s not working, she’s spending time with her family and of course cheering on her favourite rugby team. Jacinta enjoys working with participants from all walks of life and makes it a priority to have people feel as comfortable as possible which isn’t hard!

After serving in the Army for almost 14 years, attaining the rank of Sergeant and completing two tours in Afghanistan, Brendan joined AkinCare with the aim of helping those in the DVA and Disability spaces. If he’s not working, you’ll find him either spending time with his beautiful family or in the gym. His unique perspective makes him an incredible addition to our team in Townsville and his open and honest way of communicating makes him a great person to have a chat with!
